On your map of Chicago and Vicinity, Riverside is about 10 plus miles crowflight W S W of the center of the Chicago Loop: West of Berwyn, North of Lyons, East of Brookfield and South of North Riverside, Forest Park and Broadview. On the Chicago Grid, our studio would be about 7550 West and 3540 South.
Coming East or West along the Eisenhower Experssway (I-290), exit on First Avenue, turn Southwards, and keep going about 3 miles until you spot the Zoo; you are now on our map.
At the next traffic light, with the High School on your right, turn left on Forest Avenue and follow our map.
Coming West or East along the Stevenson (I-55), take the First Avenue exit North; the fourth traffic light is Forest Avenue. Turn right there, and find your way on our close-up map.
Or, coming West along the Eisenhower, you can exit South at Harlem Avenue, roll down Harlem about 3 miles, and turn right at the traffic light just South of the Burlington tracks (2nd set of tracks you cross.) You are now on East Quincy St. in Riverside, and 3 1/2 blocks along it Westwards is the Higgins Glass Studio. |
